Interior designs have evolved over the years and continue to change as more people play around with styles. There are many different interior design styles from which you can choose and use in your homes but here are 4 out of the 8 of the most common styles.
Minimalist
Minimalism is all about clean lines, reductive, uncluttered, monochromatic, simplicity. "Less is more" is the mantra of this Japanese inspired design style as it aims to bring tranquillity and peace into the home. These interiors are all about being stripped down to the bare essentials and letting the lack of clatter make a statement. The colours you’ll most often find in a minimalist home are white, black and grey with plants being used as pops of colour.
Mid-Century Modern
This style evolved in the mid-1940’s after WW2 and has been popular ever since. It’s known for its use of clean, simple lines, pops of blues and greens, and plenty of wood and rusty metals. For those who want to commit to a fully mid-century modern home you can take inspiration from Florence Knoll and Arne Jacobsen who were the leading pioneers of this style.
Nautical
Nautical design is also known as costal and is often recognisable through its white or sand coloured foundations with blue accents. Its ideal for those who want to bring some warmth and costal sunshine into their home. Many Nautical homeowners will style their homes with seashells, jars, rope, rowing oars and maps.
